West Virginia Advances Tri-State CCS Hub Permit
September 19, 2025
We are pleased to share that the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has deemed our Class VI permit application administratively complete for the Hancock County portion of the project. This marks another important milestone in the regulatory process and allows the state to move forward with its comprehensive technical review.
This achievement follows the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s determination earlier this year that our application was complete, and it reflects the significant preparation and community partnership that have gone into responsibly advancing the project.
While the permitting process is extensive, each step brings us closer to realizing a carbon capture and storage hub that delivers economic and environmental benefits across the Tri-State region. We are grateful for your support and remain committed to transparency and open communication every step of the way.
If you have questions, feedback, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your voice helps shape the future of this project.
