Tenaska Submits Class VI Permit Application for Tri-State CCS Hub in Carroll County, OH

November 10, 2025

Thank you for your continued support of the Tri-State CCS Hub. As always, your engagement as landowners, community leaders, business owners and residents is fundamental to the progress of this important project.

We’re pleased to share another major milestone in our permitting journey: Our Class VI permit application for the Carroll County, Ohio, portion of the project has been deemed administratively complete by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This kicks off a multi-year permitting process to confirm that the proposed well sites in the application meet all federal requirements for the safe, long-term storage of carbon dioxide.

This achievement reflects years of scientific study, rigorous environmental review and sustained community partnership. It positions the region as a leader in energy innovation and environmental solutions, and we are proud to work alongside local stakeholders to responsibly advance this opportunity.

The Carroll County submittal is the third Class VI application for the Tri-State CCS Hub to be deemed administratively complete. Our fourth application – for Harrison and Jefferson counties in Ohio – was recently submitted, and our team is awaiting EPA feedback.

We look forward to continued progress, and we remain grateful for your partnership every step of the way.
